GTA IV Trailer is the first trailer for GTA IV. I really liked all of the GTA III games, and GTA IV seems to be the true next step in the series. The footage in the trailer looks very cool and I’m guessing that Rockstar still has a few surprises for us under their sleeve.
No crime too small in Tokyo is the story of a guy who got his bike stolen in Tokyo. It says a lot about the Japanese culture, it kinda makes you want to go live there…*cough*Sooki*cough*
A Very Short Walk Around A Tokyo Apartment is a short tour through a very small apartment in Tokyo. Apparently Japanese people have come up with some very creative ways to make the best out the the smallest possible space.
YouTube Video Awards 2006 is a new annual contest created by YouTube to pick the best videos of 2006. Most of them are too “YouTubey” for me taste. But there are a few nice exceptions. “Here it Goes Again” is (as it corresponding award states) extremely creative and it’s actually the only video in the list that I had seen before. But the real gems of the contest are “Free Hugs Campaign” which is very well edited and truly an “inspirational” video and “Kiwi!” which is probably the most moving YouTube video I’ve seen. I wouldn’t call it “Adorable” though, especially considering the ending…maybe the voters didn’t understand the storyline?
Beautiful Night Shots Of Yokohama, Japan is a set of night pictures taken at Yokohama. I keep saying that I usually don’t post pictures, but apparently I keep doing so. I guess I just can’t stop myself from posting some of this amazing pictures every once in a while.
10mg is…well, I’m not quite sure. As far as I was able to tell it’s a web developer’s website. No matter what it is, the intro is very cool.
A Philosphical Mii is a funny video clip from G4 that documents the life of a Mii. Surprisingly, even though it comes from G4, it’s entertaining and funny.
Mario Bros. Lego is a stop motion video of some parts of Mario Bros. recreated using Lego. It has some funny parts and great music.
lecturefox is a great site with link to free university lectures you can find online. Some are just the course notes (which is not very useful most of the time) but others have either audio or video which is quite nice. There are also some very interesting lectures on the list.
TextArc is a project where you can read Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland all in a single page. The idea is to have all the words that appear in the book spread across your screen, and you are just pointed to each word that appears in the book one at a time. You can also see the relationships between words. It’s an interesting project and it has a nice visual style.
Red Cross Billboards is a set of clever Red Cross billboards which are very well done.
Relationships Among Scientific Paradigms is a map of relationships between published papers in different scientific fields. It’s kinda sad to see that Math is very small, but there aren’t that many new papers published about Math. However, it’s still nice to see that even though it’s very small, Math is the one that seems to be closest to the center of the map.
South Park real-life characters is a drawing of “real-life” versions of the South Park character. I hate South Park, but I like this drawing. It’s a lot better than the other version of the South Park characters drawn in the same style that floats around the web.
Dwarf Complete is the latest game by On from Eyezmaze. I’m a big fan of all of his games, and this is not an exception. This time he was hired to do a game for the Lineage II Japanese website featuring the dwarfs from Lineage II. It a bit challenging, but very fun, I finally got 41/40 and 10 moons 😀 Enjoy!

Winterbells – Sometimes I’m surprised by how much fun an incredibly simple game can be.
gaming.wikia is a Wikipedia-like project that aims to be a user-based gaming magazine. Right now most of the stuff in there is quite crappy, but this project has a lot of potential.
Island leopard deemed new species is a BBC article about a new species of Leopard. Unfortunately there are not many pictures of this “new species”, but this new Leopard looks a lot cooler than the old one 😛
Project Euler is a website with many different computational/mathematical problems which you can try to solve. Someone suggested that it was a good resource to find problems that would help you get started with Lisp and I agree. Once you solve the problem you can see the comments where people post how they solved it, which makes Project Euler even more helpful. Also, some of the problems should let me practice my Number Theory skills which, to be honest, have a lot of room for improvement.
FINE: I will look at LISP. Where do I start? is an article on reddit where people suggest what the best way to get started with Lisp is. I recently decided to get started with Lisp and I was having a hard time, hopefully that will change after this article. Many people suggested Practical Common Lisp, but that just didn’t work for me, it’s just not linear enough, most of the time the code examples contain code that the author has not explained yet so it’s very confusing.
Wireframe Subaru Impreza is an ad for the Subaru Impreza which is simply amazing. My guess is that in real life it probably doesn’t look as good as in the pictures, but it’s still a great idea.
Sprout is a short game where you control a seed which can sprout into several different plants. The art style is very nice and the game concept is also very interesting. Its only shortcoming is its length.
Imagini VisualDNA is a website that tries to guess what you are like based on your choice of pictures in several groups. In my case it was quite off in a few guesses but it also got a few of them right. Either way, it’s still an interesting project. I also though it was quite curious that most of my choices were the least common ones.
Orange is a new game from the creator of Red (which I posted about some time ago). The controls aren’t explained, but you can easily figure them out. It’s a fun game and it gets kinda hard after a while.
New Bioshock Footage is, as you might expect, some new Bioshock footage. Sometimes I wish I had an Xbox 360. Eh…not anymore.
Mars Billboards is a very clever set of billboards advertising Mars chocolate bars.
Finding Nemo 2 is a very clever ad for Finding Nemo 2. It’s hard to tell whether it’s real or not, but judging by the rest of the pictures by the same Flickr user, I’d say it’s real.
Tower of Babblers is an interesting game which I’ve been debating with myself whether to post or not. On one hand, I really like how the “Tower of Babel” idea is used, but on the other hand that’s all I like. I hate how the “no instructions” policy works in this game, its more about finding the instructions and then following them and about figuring out how the game works. And I also don’t quite like the puzzles themselves, once you figure out how it works, there’s not much left to the game. However for some reason I don’t understand myself I kinda like this game…
Magenta Ain’t A Colour is an article that states that the color “Pink” does not in fact exist, instead, it’s a color made up by our brains. The way our brain perceives colors has always fascinated me and this is a nice example of that. Plus, it fits together nicely with the post about afterimages I made recently.
With Scheme would he have done better? is a funny series of comics based on the popular Foxtrot webcomic about a boy who was asked to write “I will not throw paper airplanes in class” 500 times in the blackboard. Reminds me of young Gauss.
Painted Cars is a group of pictures of cars painted in some very special ways. It’s a very nice optical illusion.
